“The Promise of Increase”
Psalm 115:8-15
In the beginning of this chapter, the Psalmist is disturbed by the thought of the heathen’s taunting question to God’s people. Where is your God?
That is very similar to the devil, who tries to send out words of discouragement right in the midst of you waiting on God to fulfill what He promised you.
Do not allow anything to shake your faith, because you have a promise from God.
Then, He goes on to assure them of this promise of increase in verses 12-15.
Increase – to become or make greater in size, amount or degree; to grow, get larger, expand or swell; to multiply.
This is the promise that is over your life. Things must multiply in your and your children’s lives.
The Lord has promised you increase, but here are two things you must do:
- You must continue to believe.
-The Word of God says in Matthew 13:58 that Jesus did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief. It wasn’t that He did not want to, but their unbelief got in the way.
- Stop focusing on how many times it did not happen in the past. It was not your time then, but it is your time right now.
-This is your moment of increase, and it was promised to you by God.
