“Peace Be Still”
Mark 4:37-40
Somebody’s emotions may not be in the right place at this time. But, the Lord is saying to you, “Be at peace.”
The Prince of Peace, has given you peace. In St. John 14:27, Jesus said these words to His disciples, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.” This peace is not dictated by outside circumstances, but it is dictated by Him.
He also tells them, in that verse, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” II Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
This lets us know that He does not want us to be afraid. The enemy is trying to bring a strong spirit of fear on someone at this time. Do not be afraid. Do not let it happen to you.
In Philippians 4:6 he says, “Be careful (worried) for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” The Lord wants you to take everything to Him in prayer instead of worrying about it.
Verse 7 tells us the end result, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” His peace will keep your heart and mind.
Today is about you having a peace of mind and heart.
How can you do this?
Psalms 37:7 says, “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.” Rest in Him, not your situation, because He is the problem fixer.
This brings me back to the scripture text, Mark 4:37-40.
He was with them to bring a sense of calmness, because He was going to take care of the problem or circumstance that they were faced with at the time.
Peace – free from disturbance; having an inner calmness or rest.
This is why He is saying to you today, “Peace be still.”
Numbers 6:24-26 says, “The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
Through this peace, you will gain the strength that you need to go forward in this season of your life.
