“The Motivation of Faith”
Matthew 9:18-22
Are you motivated to take action in the beginning of this year?
This is what faith is all about. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith is the assurance of things to come. When you are operating in faith, you are operating with a certainty. This should motivate you to action.
In Matthew 9:18-22, you find the story of the woman with the issue of blood being motivated to action despite her 12 year condition. By faith, she knew that she was going to be healed.
Verses 20 & 21 say, “And, behold a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind Him, and touched the hem of His garment. For she said within herself, if I may but touch His garment, I shall be whole.”
She knew that she was about to be healed, which motivated her to action.
Listen to what Jesus says to her in verse 22, “But Jesus turned him about, and when He saw her, He said, daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.”
This is the motivation of faith.
