“The Power of One’s thought Life”
Acts 26:1-3
Paul said, “I think myself happy.”
This lets us know that this is an act of one’s will.
You can be happy in life if you can get control of your thought life.
Our thought life can affect us in a good or bad way. That is why the Word of God says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
Our thought life can affect us in a positive or negative way.
You are a product of your thought life. II Corinthians 10:5 says, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.”
Cast – to throw down; spike down immediately.
Do not dwell on any thought that is not in line with God’s will and word for your life.
Remember, Paul said, “I think myself happy.” This is an act of your own will.
Let’s look at a couple of things concerning the process of thinking oneself happy.
- In Acts 26:2-3, Paul was thinking positively in the midst of what he was going through. So, his thought life was not controlled by his circumstance. Philippians 4:8-10 tells us to think on things that are lovely or of a good report. Think on the good things.
- Your conversation must be positive and not negative. Proverbs 15:23 says, “A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!” Death and life is in the power of your tongue. Be careful with what is coming out of your mouth.
This is the power of your thought life. It can bring joy and happiness in your life, or sadness and depression in your life. This is why you must take control of your thought life.
