The Daily WORD by Bishop Ronald Hardy, Sr.

“Who is First in your Life?”

Colossians 1:18

The writer lets us know that Jesus Christ is the head of the church, which is the body of Christ. He directs, controls, guides and governs the church.

Now, when I speak of the church, I am not speaking of the building itself. I am speaking of us as believers. We are the church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is supposed to be the head of our lives. This means that He should direct, control, guide and govern our lives.

He should have the preeminence.

Preeminence – the fact of surpassing all others; superiority

This speaks to us that Jesus should be first in our lives. My question to you today is, “Who is first in your life?”

Why is this so important? Because, whoever is first in your life will have the control or greatest influence over you.

If it is not the Lord, then your life is out of order. This will cause you to miss out on God’s best for your life.

I have witnessed people living below God’s best for their lives, because the Lord was not first in their lives.

I have watched people walk away from the Lord, because someone else or something else was first in their lives.

The rich young ruler walked away from the Lord, because his riches were first in his life.

Here is the blessing of the Lord being first in your life. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

When He is first, everything else will be added unto you. Who is first in your life?
