“Faith Can Be Seen”
James 2:14-18
James is letting us know that true faith can be seen. Why? Because, faith is an action word.
He is letting them know that he will show them his faith by his actions.
Jesus encounters this in Mark 2:1-5. He witnesses the faith of four men in action. He was in Capernaum at the time, and the word got out that He was there. So many began to gather, that there was no room to get in. While He was preaching the word to them, four men showed up carrying their friend on a stretcher.
Seeing there was no room to get in, they went to the roof top and uncovered it. While He was preaching, they began to let down the stretcher. The word of God says in verse 5, “When Jesus saw their faith, He said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.” Later on He says, “Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.”
Jesus saw the faith of these four men, and healed their friend. Why? Because, faith is an action word.
Do not spend so much time this year trying to prove your faith. Spend time demonstrating your faith, because faith can be seen.
