“Living in the Promises of God”

II Peter 1:1-4

It is important to understand that the Lord intends for us to actually live in His promises.

He doesn’t want us to just hear about His promises, but He wants us to actually live in His promises.

Live – to reside in; dwell in; remain in.

Our lives should bear witness to the promises of God.

Abraham ended up living in what God promised Him.

The children of Israel lived in the Promised Land.

It is God’s desire for us to live in what He has promised us as believers.

Hebrews 8:6 says, “But now has He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.”

Let’s look at the keys that caused Abraham to end up living in what God promised him. (Romans 4:17-21)

  1. His natural condition did not determine his faith. He was able to hope against hope.
  2. He never stopped believing. Verse 20 says, “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith giving glory to God.”
  3. He was fully persuaded. That means that he was totally convinced that God was able to perform what He had promised him. (verse 21)

Are you totally convinced that God is able to perform what He promised you?

Matthew 19:26 says, “For with God all things are possible.”

It is time for you to start living in the promises of God, because all the promises in Him are Yea and Amen.
