The Daily WORD by Bishop Ronald Hardy, Sr.

“Are you ready for what God is about to do next?”

Joshua 3:1-5

Joshua is trying to get them ready for what God was about to do next.

In verse 4, He was letting them know that it was something that they hadn’t experienced before. He tells them, “For ye have not passed this way heretofore.”

Ready – fit for immediate use; willing or prepared.

Many times the Lord is ready to do something for us, with us and through us, but we are not ready when the time comes.

We can hinder what the Lord wants to do in our lives, when we are not ready for it.

There are some keys to making yourself ready for what He is about to do next.

  1. You must be attentive.

He needs your attention. So, you must eliminate all distractions to be ready to hear what He is saying.

  1. You must be willing.

You must be ready, eager and prepared to do what He has said.

Get excited about this opportunity to fulfill His will. Isaiah 1:19-20 says, “If you be willing and obedient, ye shall eat of the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: For the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.” Philippians 2:14 says, “Do all things without murmurings or complaining.” You must be willing.

  1. You must be obedient.

  1. Position yourself.

You must get in the right place or position. You cannot be out of place and ready simultaneously.

  1. You must have faith.

In order for you to be ready for the next thing that God has for you, it requires you to have faith. II Corinthians 5:7 says, “We walk by faith and not by sight.”

These are the keys for you being ready for the next thing that God has in store for you.
