“Good Success”
Joshua 1:8
Good success is linked to the God kind of success.
God has a plan for us to succeed in life. However, how often do we walk away from His way, to do it our way? This causes us to come up short of the good success that he has in store for us.
We must be willing to do it His way to obtain the God kind of success in life.
This is what He is making known to Joshua. Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that though mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
I know that all of us want to experience success in life. We want to be successful in our careers, homes, finances, etc.
Success – the accomplishment of goals; to achieve great things
We should all desire this.
Success always comes with a series of tests. Whether you pass or fail those tests determines how successful you will be. Here are a few examples of tests that you may be faced with.
- The temptation test
You must resist the enticement to do something that is wrong or unwise. I have witnessed many people destroy or lose everything that they had, because they did not pass the temptation test.
- The diligence test
Diligence – having a steady, consistent or persistent effort. Being diligent means that you do not start and stop. You must be consistent. Being lazy and slothful does not lead to success.
- The “giving up” test
Give up – to cease to give effort; to quit. You will never succeed without giving the proper effort. There is a saying that, “Winners never quit.” Even when you feel like giving up, just make up in your mind that you are going to press through it.
Remember that you will face these tests on the road to success in life.
