“Thinking God’s Thoughts”
Isaiah 55:8-11
Have you ever thought that someone was thinking a certain way about you, but eventually you realized that it was not the way that they were thinking about you? Or, have you ever thought that someone had a particular thing in mind for you, but you found out that they really had something better in mind for you? If they did not correct your thinking, you would have missed out on the relationship that you could have had, or the thing that they truly wanted to give you.
It is so important for us to think the thoughts of God, because our thoughts can affect our relationship with Him. Our thoughts can also stop us from possessing all that He has in store for us.
We are a product of our thought life. Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
Thoughts can affect us in a good or bad way.
Thought – an idea or opinion produced by thinking or occurring suddenly in the mind; the action or process of thinking.
You have to change your process of thinking, and start thinking like the Lord wants you to think.
Strongholds are formed in one’s mind through a process of thinking. (II Corinthians 10:3-5) How do we defeat this? By dismissing any thought that contradicts what the Word of the Lord says. (Verse 5)
Thinking God’s thoughts is the key to you possessing your Promised Land experience.
Example: In II Kings 5:1-3 & 9-14, His own process of thinking almost caused him to miss out on his healing. It had nothing to do with what the Lord wanted to do.
Let me give you two things that represent God’s thoughts about you:
- He has a great future in store for you. (Jeremiah 29:11)
- He will bless you. (Psalm 115:12-15)
It is time for you to get free of some thoughts that have had such an influence or control over you.
